Meet The Team Tuesday: Becky "Franticmommy" Flansburg!

February 21, 2012 by Valarie Leave a Comment

From Valarie: Tuesdays are for sharing and I’m so happy to be sharing our team with you. Lately I’ve been receiving so many emails and comments on all of the blogs wondering how I get it all done. The answer to that question is that I have the most incredible people who make up the Audrey Press team. Without them nothing would get done. With them, every idea in my head is a possibility. All of us work virtually online and freelance. We live all over the world and every day is filled with fun creations. Without further ado, I present to you the doers, dreamers, and wizards of Audrey Press. First up, the ever funny Becky Flansburg.

Becky and I met at The Creative Connection in St. Paul Minnesota the fall of 2011. She sat by me because she liked my pirate boots and the rest as they say is history. Over the course of 4 days we kept bumping into each other and sharing meals. At a really inspiring lunch we exchanged emails and chatted about online business. A few months later I asked Becky to help me with a few items here at Audrey Press. She is one of the funniest people I have ever met and together I always feel like taking on the world is a real and actual possibility. Please give a warm welcome to Becky Flansburg.

Hi! I’m Becky and I am the newest member of the Audrey Press team. Needless to say, I am stoked about it too!

Becky "Franticmommy" Flansburg

Valarie asked me to whip up a little sumthin sumthin to intro me to y’all……

Ummm…OK…… Well….hmmmm. I can write beautifully about other people, topics, and businesses. But about myself? Not.so.much.

I recently attended a networking function where an “icebreaker activity” was done. This activity was called a “webby” and it challenged people to describe themselves in 5 words. Some of the offerings from other attendees were “poet trapped in contractors body” and “Travel Agent for lifelong dreams.”

With this fun little formula in mind, here’s a bit about ME.

My Personal Webby: “Old Mom Learning New Tricks.” After 30 years of working outside the home for The Man, I have made the leap to self-employment and business ownership. And yes, it’s freakin AWESOME!

Goals for 2012: Skinny Jeans and Fat Wallet. And that’s all I got to say ’bout that.

My Life Theme: Unbelievably blessed and uber quirky. I am blessed beyond comprehension. “Uber Quirky?”

OK, enough with the webby, here’s some Little Known Facts About Me:

*I can milk a goat and shoot a nail gun.

*I always told friends that, when I turned 40, I would celebrate by either skydiving or getting my belly button pierced. I had a baby instead. 🙂

*One of my favorite snacks in the whole world is hot coffee and hard mild cheddar cheese (it’s smmmooootthhhh).

* I live in Minnesota…so really it makes no sense that I said y’all a few paragraphs ago.. I should have said Ya Shore, Ya Betcha.

*If I was to do my life over again, what would I do? Save more money and eat less PB&J. And maybe Mayo. That stuff goes right to my thighs.

Real Life: I am a mom to two (Jake 9 and Sara 6), wifey to one, businesswomen, hardcore blogger and social media fiend. I am CEO and Supreme Commander of my own company called LAMS Communications. It’s just moi in my company right now, and BOY is my boss a nag! 😉

I love to write, read, meet people, and watch my kids grow. I know there’s a budding author hidden somewhere inside of me, but for now, I am having a ball helping wonderful people like Valarie.

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Gorgeous descriptions of New Orleans paired with a brilliant take on vampire lore, all written with a truly authentic teen voice add up to one thing: Hannah Rials’s writing is breathing new life into the paranormal YA world.

I always suspected that certain picture books give dragons an undeserved bad rap. This delightful picture book clears up dangerous and misleading misconceptions about dragons. Dragons, as it turns out, are gentle creatives that love sweets, hoard books, and, most certainly, are real! I'm getting the word out to my kids!

Visually, this book is GORGEOUS! A Year in the Secret Garden is a treasure trove of activities, crafts, games, recipes and information all related to the classic children’s book, The Secret Garden, bringing to life this wonderful book to a new generation of readers. I cannot recommend this beautifully illustrated and detailed, information-packed book highly enough to parents, homeschoolers, teachers, and librarians. Ages 5+

What a beautiful book! The Waldorf Homeschool Handbook has given me much food for thought by reading it. I love it and even though we have already been homeschooling for almost 8 years now with children in highschool, it has been wonderfully refreshing and has encouraged me to relook at how we go about our homeschooling journey.
